Wow dude. How disrespectful to straight up poach like this. This type of sales tactic is the big reason I DONT have any respect for ThinkSquare Chess Academy. You're so aggressive with your marketing it feels disingenuous and slimy. Let alone using other peoples platforms to promote your own service. Get out of here with that garbage.
Im very interested. I'm at a block right now and I would like for someone to explain why I go from "a massive material advantage" to a stalemate. I can't find help with the game lessons but I'm almost certain it's because I'm phrasing it wrong. Any pointing in the right direction would be appreciated

Hello! I took a look at your account and the biggest piece of advice I would have at your level is to not give away free pieces and to make sure you capture free pieces when your opponents blunder them. By doing that you can make it to 1k elo.
If you do find yourself stalemating a bunch it is likely because you arent familiar with the checkmating patterns. A good way to study them and learn them is to go to 'puzzles>custom puzzles> Turn off all themes except "Mate in 1."
This will build your knowledge of what checkmates look like and help you find them easier.
So yes, I coach chess. And yes I'm offering free lessons right now. My rapid has recently taken a dip below 2k myself as I haven't been playing very focused, or thoughtful chess the past month. I want to revive that spirit in myself a bit.
What makes me qualified?
I've been coaching for about 7 years now, with many students going on to coach other players.
I have a background in public education.
I enjoy teaching others.
I would rather teach you how to think about chess, rather than specifically what to think.
I teach you how to ask yourself the questions that you want answered, even if you dont know what those questions are yet.
I teach logic. I make sure everything taught can be explained, and is not just 'intuitive'
This method of teaching builds your intuition, and really helps you solve complex problems over the chess board, and the same logical thinking can be learned for other aspects of life as well.
Why am I doing this for free?
I love chess. Through and through, it has saved me from depression, given me a chance to be creative, and most importantly brought me many friends. Chess has single handedly been a crutch I lean on to help me survive the world mentally. As much as I want to teach as I job full time I also would love to do it for the rest of my life for free. Even if I had infinite amounts of money, I would still want to teach chess. It is my lifelong hobby not to necessarily play chess, but to inspire growth in others and to help them achieve their goals.
So you've made it this far into reading. I'm sorry it was so long, but the post will be over soon I promise. If you still want coaching I only ask a few things. Don't worry, it wont be a bunch. Have a microphone so we can actually talk about chess, communications over text are clunky and honestly I'm a very slow typer and it limits the amount of ways I am able to teach something. The only other thing I ask is that you are fluent in English, which assuming you've been reading this I'm sure you are. The only other thing is a place to hold voice calls. I prefer Discord, and Google, but if other programs are better for you we can always work something out. Feel free to DM me for specifics, or just reply below and I can message you.
Edit: As of Sept 18th 2025 I am no longer taking full time free students. I do offer the first lesson for free, but following lessons must be paid. Thank you all for the undertanding
