You are allowed to promote a pawn to any piece regardless of whether you still have those pieces on the board.
Incorrect solution in a challenge

In one of the lessons called assisted checkmate, there is an incorrect solution. When the pawn is at the end, you can ask for a Queen, but you already have the Queen in the game. So you can't solve the challenge because the solution implies that there are two white Queens. See the picture below.
