Looking for chess lessons

Dear all,

I am looking for chess lessons! I know that chess lessons are not for free so i am willing to pay for them. While looking around i see many great coaches with steep prices , which i would be willing to do when i'm a higher level player but not as for yet (maybe in the near future ).

What im looking for is a coach for the beginner improving or intermediate player. Prepare for a player who likes to read MANY chess books, can cite from chessbooks, knows 'the opera game' by heart but blunders so much in his own games that there is never anything fruitful coming from his own games haha. I think of myself as a blundering player, who knows how pawn chains work, what "triangulation" is, reads many books on chess but never sees it happen in his own game (by being clueless on a strategy level probably ) so i thought about taking lessons (to become a force to be reckoned with).

I am currently 41, i love boardgames, reading, studying (master in health psychology) and many other hobbys im willing to disclose if interested. Dutch or English would be nice, german is possible too, but i am too affraid to make mistakes while speaking in that case.

Are you or do you know a chess coach for online lessons (while recognizing my specific needs, which is not professional coaching on a master level or something), please let me know

Kind regards

hello, I think I would be a great fix for a chess coach. I used to study a lot of books when I was earlier in my chess career so I have quite a lot of book suggestions. I also specialize in teaching beginners, with most of my students being under 1400, and also my irl being a chess coach for kids.

My current rate is 25 USD per lesson (lessons are typically 1 hour though I sometimes go more if the lesson calls for it).

We can also use a lot of websites for communications and lessons, such as discord, whatsapp, messenger, zoom, google meets, or if you have a suggestion i'm willing to try any other free alternatives.

With that being said I do want to be straightforward with an issues. I will being starting 2 internships in some upcoming months, the first one may require me to be limited to lessons very early in the morning (which would be around the afternoon for you). and the 2nd internship starts in august, and im not sure if i will be able to teach you at all.

MichielTummers. I honestly don’t think you need a chess coach. Your problem could be one of two things. (A): Chess just might not be your thing. Don’t be offended, but I’m also sure this isn’t the case considering the fact you’ve studied many books on the topic of chess and such. (B): You might not have enough experience. Chess books will only take you so far. Play some games. Trust me it will help you. Experience is worth a lot more than endless studying. Hope you found this helpful. :)
