Hi all! I'm really enjoying Chess.com and getting back into playing again. So much so, that I've been asked to develop curriculum for at-risk youth in my area. We celebrated a kick-off event this past weekend and got tremendous feedback. We would love to keep the momentum as a way to deter violence and encourage community, so any suggestions from anyone here is welcomed!

I've realized that TheNameofNames. However, I think it depends on the approach of the teacher and the personality of the student as well.

Competing always includes losing, a lesson that can be conveyed easily when teaching chess, and its a life-lesson that relates to cooler heads prevailing, don't you think?
