What is the best place to learn chess?

Sort:
runanbond

Hi, I am a returning player and I never went beyond learning what pieces make which kind of move.

I would like to return and wondered if there is a place (perhaps a web app / mobile app) to learn basic chess strategy, patterns, tips & tricks but with a structured roadmap towards better / mastery / expertise.

Basically I am not looking for resources with random patterns, but a structured roadmap like learning with practice.

Thank you so much!

There is no best place. Plan your study plan on your own. Select and collect the study and training materials on your own.

Please read the post above you (#3). The person you are responding to is not a person, but a commercial spambot.

I don't know about the best place but what you're describing is similar to what I'm in the process of building. A "roadmap" from opening to endgame concepts.

I'm trying to make everything simple enough that anyone can understand it, short enough that anyone can afford the 1-2 minutes to read it, and packed with (what I believe) to be valuable information.

I am posting new content every day.

The best place to learn to play chess is in a crack house.  You'd be shocked at how well crackheads play chess, and they're almost always willing to share what they know.

And how do you know this info? 🤨

I agree, chess.com study plan has so much content all organized in a structured format. It got me from like sub 1000 to 1800, I don't quite remember the exact rating but I know it helped me a lot. I think it can get someone from complete beginner to 2200

Chessable has some great courses. Especially if you want to learn your openings.

This is very outdated. Many links don't work and it still advises to use features of the website that no longer exist, like Tactics Trainer.

Yea it's unfortunate but it's still a great roadmap
