1.100-1.200 rated player needs some tips

Hi guys!

I got recently into chess and a friend gave me some tips which helped me a lot. But i'm stuck at 1.100-1.200 and i feel like i don't know the ideas behind some piece movements which for me look like they have no purpose at all.

Can anyone give me some tips on learning how to develop pieces?

I do everyday tactics training and i've read lots of lessons so far, but they seem not enough to improve.

I've also been watching some streams with commentators and unlike other streams of other games i've watched i feel like i learn nothing from them.

Thanks in advance!

Purpose?   I wonder if you mean the knight?   Knights attack a "circle" around them, roughly, and can move past other pieces like a wall of pawns. They also alternate color attacked, unlike bishops which are stuck on their color forever.

Development simply means getting stuff anywhere but its starting position, roughly.  Where to put the pieces depends on what opening you want to use, and that requires memorization of 3-5 moves or so at your level.    A generic setup will put the knights on the inside at c3, f3, / mirror for black.  Your bishops tend to go somewhere safe that applies pressure on the center of the board or onto your opponent's castled king as best you can.  You queen needs to move to a safe (unattackable) square early on.   Then castle -- usually kingside -- and you have a generic developed position.    Pawns typically pressure the center and don't move too many too soon.   Pawn moves are forever, and messing them up early can quickly ruin your chances.

Drop the tactics for a few days and do some openings instead.

Most commented streams and games are higher level players.   Focus on the basics -- how pieces move,  opening and development,  basic checkmate.

Look at the various things under the learn tab here and see what you can find on the above topics.  If you can't find the materials, ask again.

@OP : I'm not sure you can learn much from streams, but if you like video learning, you can consider these excellent and free resources to start with :
