My name is David and I am creating an online chess course. About a month ago I published part 1 of the "From Zero to Hero" series, which was oriented mainly towards beginners. Today, part 2 is available with the intention of taking players who are on a low level where they barely understand the basics of the game into being able to defend themselves in tourneys.
The topics that will be covered are the following:
- Must-know endgame theory, working on the bare minimum of pawn and rook endgames where mistakes are not allowed if you want to have a successful chess "career"
- Basic common tactical patterns, as well as advice on how to properly calculate combinations during your games.
- Fundamentals of piece positioning, focusing on good vs bad bishops and open files
- An opening repertoire as Black, built around the French Defense, intending to further understand the strategical topics discussed before.
- Some "tourney tips", covering things such as game analysis and chess notation.
