Lessons translation!

Hi, i'm a premium member, and i do the Diamond account (10,20 euros per month) for have infinite tactics trainer, videos and lessons.

Ok TT, OK Videos...but the Lessons are in english only.😕😕

WHY?

I'm Italian, i understend English but is NOT relaxing and is frustrating to follow more and more lessons in english.

is not my mother language, and when i tried to follow and read the first advaceced lessons, i not finish it because went me an headache 😐

For me is very bad for chess.com not have the lessons in the first 3-4 common languages in the world (english, italian, spanish, german, france).

why?

i know, is impossible to translate any lesson by your hand....but...

....why not take a deal with an automatic translator (like google translator, or tradukka etc..) and add a button for the translation on lessons pages???

There are many professional automatic translators for a better translation.

it should be simply....i load a lesson, i click on "translate" and the lesson is in Italian.

Who care if the translation is not perfect....however is better than another language.

Would be perfect if you do the same for the App (i use very often the beautiful App).

I'm thinking to remove my Diamond account for this 😕

What do you need a button for? You can install Google Translate as an application on your browser and have Google automatically translate all the content you want.

I try to use it occasionally and I think that the output is okay but is often mistaken.

These stats are wrong. Brazil alone has 204 million people, so how could there be only 203 million portuguese speakers in the world?

Doubtlessly based on old (so, outdated) figures, but the order of languages is almost certainly still correct.

These lessons are not very text-heavy, so the cost of even human translation would not be very high (especially when Chess.com already has a large bank of translators who translated the website for them, largely sourced from the userbase), since translators are paid per word and not per hour.

I can only suggest that while it wouldn't be very expensive to do, it's also probably simply not a top priority while Chess.com is all excited about its v3 changes.

Definitely a great thing to petition that they add to their "to-do" list, though!

exactly, this numbers ARE WRONG.

italians in italy are 60.000.000.

outside italy (italians in first generation) are over 30.000.000.

then.....a lot of milion italians of 2'-3' generations in argentina, brasil and usa.

this numbers are WRONG.

Fabio656

however, the number of italians is not the problem of this post, the problem is translate the lessons

Then you have Galicians, distributed over the whole Local Group of Galaxies.

Italian doesn't even make the top 20!

Source of the info: http://www.ethnologue.com/statistics/size

I am not sure I would be so quick to argue with hundreds of linquists about who and who isn't a native speaker.

Very sorry you have a headache but you may possibly have noticed that there are a number of bigger problems that the site is trying to deal with at this moment.

/ You have been a member for only 2 months. Get used to the headaches.

this numbers are wrong, i repeat, real italians are 90.000.000 (60.000.000 in italy and 30.000.000 outside, this number are certificate by politic votation), and a lot more of second or third generation.

calculate that 30% of argentina people are italians of 2 or 3 generation.

is impossible that italian language is under 100.000.000. IMPOSSIBLE.

ok, i'm member for only 2 months, what mean?

my opinion is worse than your??

my money is worse than your??

my opinion is clear, if chess.com sell (expensive) subscrition around the world, every people in the world must have the same quality of the service, not only who speak english.

is clear, and i think is a natural request.

the site is correctly translate in a good Italian, but must be translate the lessons too, because i pay for this lessons.

simply and clear. this is my opinion

Pulpofeira

I disagree. I've been in some Spanish speaking sites. Nobody would expect lessons in English there. Of course it would be awesome if every feature on a site like this one was available in several languges, but I think it is too much to bite.

pepette15

+1000 Galician is important too for future of Spain just saying

Pulpofeira

I found myself forced to learn Mexican slang for insults, btw.
