"Chess Mentor" is the old name for the computer based chess lessons available on chess.com.
If you want to register as a coach or group of coaches, you should visit the coaches page and follow the instructions there to register as a coach.
Since you just joined today, you have no history here to back up your claims any other way. Real names and ratings go a long way to establish bona fides.
Hello.
First of all I am not sure if this is the best place to post but I was hoping to get some feedback from the chess community and gather thoughts.
For a while we have been wanting to set up a new professional membership for coaches and trainers in chess due to huge feedback regarding issues with coaches charging high amounts of money and possibly causing more damage rather than good chess coaching.
Do you all think it would be a good idea to go ahead. We are a small group formed from strong club players and coaches and understand that FIDE titles for chess coaching can be very restrictive.
If we go ahead we aim to provide an alternative route than FIDE for coaches only, enabling strong quality coaches to hold recognition and a title, while allowing them to be monitored with regards to 3rd party complaints etc.
I wont go on too much here and again, apologise if this should not be posted here but I am just trying to gauge interest (what we have received so far has been overwhelming) before deciding once and for all to go ahead.
We welcome any comments and thank you for reading.
Kind regards,
Stephen
