A number of the chess mentor lessons tell me to 'see variation'.  Can anyone tell me how or where I can 'see variation'.  I'm probably just being dumb.

Sweatheart, you ought to contact Nimzoroy hes really adept at the applications here hands down.

hey NimzoRoy, lovely to meet you!!  - so tell me where do I see the 'variations'

NimzoRoy

Give me a link to a specific chess mentor with one of these irksome variations and I'll get back to you. Right now I'm presuming the variations are in the text box, ie other lines of play that are in text but not interactive like the main lesson

BTW it's nice to meet you too!

Thanks NimzoRoy - I think you're right.  I admit that I don't always bother to read all of the text (it can sometimes be a bit long-winded), but I probably should.

Read ALL the text! Even if it is long-winded you want to get your money's worth right? Seriously, the text is important even if you need to set up a pocket set or open another window with an interactive diagram to follow it

thanks NimzoRoy - I know you are right!  There are some games though which refer to Variations which aren't included in the text - having researched a bit more, it seems that they refer to other lessons in the same course - which is OK provided you are training in sequential mode but not if you have opted for adaptive mode because in that scenario you may not yet have come across the variations being referenced.  Examples can be seen in the EOT group of lessons - might avoid confusion for dimwits like me if the lesson authors cite the number of the lesson where the variation can be seen
