I was actually just about to thank the mods for keeping this thread free of political comments. (They apparently even deleted one of my own comments!) This thread is about remembering the life of a chess master whose life was cut short. If we keep politics out of it, then this is a good way for the chess community to honor his memory.
I of course honor the dead and the perished, even if there is someone who died in a car accident during peaceful times, I will feel sad and show condolences, especially if the victim is someone that is related to chess. People of all nationalities or ethnicities, no matter whether you're Russian or Israeli, are equal in terms of the rights of living and well-being, and there's no dispute from a humanity point of view.
What I was trying to say is that this thread is clearly very politics-based, considering the fact that this incident has a very strong political context and setting. I was trying to say that it is extremely difficult to avoid discussing politics in this entirety in this thread, as evidenced by the lots of posts being erased above. The Mods are apparently doing their best jobs to keep the forums clean, and it is no one's fault in this whole thing, from an objective perspective.
