📚 Which opening is the best suited for tricky style of play?

Tricky:

There is something about the way a tricky player plays that's very disconcerting. Repeatedly they will play moves that you didn't even consider and that just flat out look weird, to the extent that it may become very confusing for you. They never give up, and are constantly looking for ways to trap and attack you. These types of players are usually very entertaining because of their resourceful and imaginative style. They can be differentiated from calculating and attacking players mainly by the unorthodox nature of their play.

Examples - GM Alex Shabalov, Julian Hodgson, GM Pavel Blatny, IM Yuri Lapshun

Queens Gambit is a powerful opening. Use wisely.

the Queen's Gambit is tricky if you're opponent doesnt know what he's doing.

for black, replying d4 with the Benoni or the King'd Indian is sort of tricky.

Urusov or the  fun and crazy Oragutan for White.

those are openings?

The Pig with white, the sound Kangaroo with Black

Volga Gambit and Budapest Gambit for example. I think Queen Gambit is pretty much simple. King Indian can be tricky but only in some variations

They are openings, but he clearly doesn't know them as Black can't force the Orangutan.  The Orangutan is 1.b4, also referred to as the Polish Opening or Sokolsky's Opening.

Closest thing you have as Black is against 1.d4, the response 1...b5 is the Polish Defense.

That said, I already posted in the Spammer's first thread of this, which he clearly decided to spam it a second time, and clearly he should take up a different game.

As mentioned there - go in the center on move 1 when you are X, and go in the center if available move one as O and if not go in any of the four corners!

I don't know, benko maybe? Owen? There are a lot of tricky openings you can play as white, but a lot of them are unsound if your opponent plays properly. Also, that description of tricky players you gave doesn't look very convincing, as there will not be a good 'weird' move all the time for a tricky player to play and unless the 'tricky player' is just a lot better than you at building plans, recognising tactics and seeing positional ideas, you are not to remain confused about his moves.

Agree to disagree, Bobby Fischer played very tricky sacrificing materials early in a game

Bishop's trap

Avatar of Scorpio1388

Hungarian Opening totally unorthodox but if you have encountered it before you know to keep you're guard up especially if both bishops are eyeing down the corners of the board.

The Grob variation in sicillian defence is really tricky to play

http://www.thechesswebsite.com/bobby-fischer-trap/ Are you talking about the game here? If you aren't, please give me the move orders.

That Fischer game mentioned above was already known Russian analysis before that game was played. Fischer didn't invent that trap.

Maybe you are right, but he did carried it well ( the trap)
