The rook is not LOST! It is just attacked!
PhilipSaponaro

Yes but if he moves or defends is, Black house will be set on fire. And who can finish a game of chess while their house burns?

checkmateibeatu
@the previous commenter... seriously!? Just because two people play a game of chess and they play those moves black's house will BURN DOWN?
theRonster456

But, checkmateibeatu, it's lost I tell ya'! The rook is lost! Observe.....

checkmateibeatu
Aaaand... what happens if the rook moves somewhere ELSE!?
checkmateibeatu
Somewhere SAFE!?
paripooranan

i don't think a4 will work

if we put a4 intoaction

we won't be able to resist the attack of the opponent

and there is s statement told by tal "one who control the centre wil be the one who  will win the game"

u alll know that the rook can be easily trapped by bishopFrown

SAFE?? There is no "safe" square! Look, I don't know why you insist on questioning my judgement. I once played a simultaneous exhibition against 602 challengers: 300 chess games, 200 games of checkers, 100 games of backgammon, a game of rock, paper, scissors with Chuck Norris and a game of russian roulette. And I did it in a house that was on fire! I won every game except the russian roulette.....

I might be wrong but doesn't 31. Qxf7+ force mate?

Looks like it to me.  Good call!

It would make a good Sunday puzzle

No because Rxf7 is a check.

never too early to start thinking about the endgame, as they say

although the endgame might come quicker than expected if you play 2. Ke2 ;)

 i must agree... 2.Ke2!! should be 2.Ke2??

pumpupthevolume247

what happens when the rook moves to e6... then h6... then back home?...

checkmateibeatu

What happens if 1.a4 a5?

If you move your king to the center early, you won't even GET to the endgame!

Are you alright? If you count all the pieces white developed, and all black developed, white has a material advantage of 3 1/2 points (Yes, thats how much the king is worth). You told me to learn opening principles and yet you dont even know the simple principle-Develop all your pieces.

checkmateibeatu needs to seriously restudy basic opening principles, and endgame principles=it says clearly

1.Develop ALL YOUR PIECES (The king is not a piece?)

2.Centralize your king for the endgame.

Yes, this was our old classic way, the hypermoderns keeps insisting you only need to put your rooks on the 3rd or 6th rank early, well both method works but I prefer the classic one.

Look up Hypermodern vs Classic you will understand.

Yes that is how much king SAFETY is worth..

checkmateibeatu

The opening principles are...

-develop your piees (kings and pawns are not considered "pieces"

-get your king SAFE by castling

-don't move a piece more than once in the opening

duskrevival

you still don't get it. Even though everyone had been telling you that. Do I need to prove it to you in a game? I would gladly play 1.e4 e5 2.Ke2 against you. I would shut up and say Ke2 is terrible and respect King Safety(Whatever that is). If I win, you have to tell every person here how Ke2 is the best move in the universe following 1.e4 e5.

So checkmateibeatu, whats your move, accept my challenge and say Ke2 is the best, or forfeit and say Ke2 is the best. Make your move.

(PS. I like that bl4der speech style, it's just hilarious Laughing)

Oh ya, I challenge checkmateibeatu to a chess to the Ke2!

hrb264

Clearly I didn't appreciate the genius of 1. ...h5!! as a reply to 1. e4 :(

Still, I managed to develop my king early ...
