King's indian defense is good, but not that good with KIA.

Whether either of these are good or not is irrelevant. The question is which of the 2 is better

As black, KID is a good opening. KIA isn't as good of an opening.

As black, the French Defense is a good opening. If you begin with 1. e3 as white, then you are giving away the advantage.
