Where's the black bishop on c8 heading?
_

odd position for black.....i think going 4 rook to e file and moving b. again( f8) takes tempo and allows white to prepare his attack--- yes, i know it's playable.BUT there are many opennings that masters play----sadly we are not masters !

After 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Bd6?! 3.d4 exd4 4.Nxd4 Nc6 5.Nc3 we have Scotch game with black bishop, placed obviously not in the best position.

best black position is Italian 1 tempo down after 1e4 e5 2Nf3 Bd6 3Nc3 Nf6 4Bc4 0-0 5 0-0 Nc6 6 Re1 Bc5
Is 6...Bc5 mandatatory. Why not 6...Re8 instead?
I dont think this line is too dangerous for Black as it`s transposing in four knights where Bd6 is playable. Like 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Nc3 Nf6 4.Bb5 Bd6!? IMHO 4...Bd6 is playable also after 4.Bc4.

Come on, playing 2. ... Bd6 is just playing a really bad move that violates chess principles and with very best play on both sides--should lose.
Pacifique line with the Scotch gives White a pretty good advantage. White does not have to transpose into the 4 Ns

1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Bd6??
This move blocks the d-pawn from advancing and it's a very passive square for a bishop.

i think is better than Leton and many more openings, and no theory about it, no name, nobody play it
after 3 d4 black is not have to play 3...exd4 he can play 3...Nc6 or 3...Qe7,but ok:3...exd4 4Nd4 (4...Ne7 5 Bg5) lets say how Pacifique say 4...Nc6 then 5 Nf5 Bf8 6 Nc3 d6 7Ng3 Nf6 =
3...Nc6 4.d5 and White has better position due to advantage in space + Black bishop on d6 looks ugly.
3...Qe7 4.dxe5 Bxe5 5.Nxe5 Qxe5 6.Nc3 and black has given up bishop pair for nothing.
after 3...exd4 4.Nxd4 Nc6 my line continues with 5.Nc3 (instead of 5.Nf5 Be5 6.f4 d5! with complications) Nf6 6.Nf5 Bf8 7.Bc4 d6 (7...g6 8.Nh6!) 8.0-0 g6 9.Nh6! with better play for White.
