1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Be7

What is with all your threads showing these extremely suboptimal moves. Go work on your tactics instead of looking at bad opening ideas. After 3.Nxe5 Nf6 4. Nc3 0-0 5. d4, white is just winning...
And in your line you give the classic beginner move Bxf7+ for no apparant reason. Simply Rxf7 Nxf7 then Kxf7 and Black is fine. But a sensible player would never play that move.
Not really sure what the point is... while LavaRook may have been blunt about it, 2...Be7 is a mistake. Bc4, while nice-looking at first, is a mildly serious error as well, as taking on f7 leads nowhere after (bunch of moves) e5 Ne8! and White has not enough compensation, and actually leads to fork-tricks with ....Nxe4! in some cases.
No matter who wins your challenge, mephistoWaltzz, ...Be7 is simply not a good move. There are some interesting themes, of course.
