Hmmm....

I've seen this opening before, but zz_brandon showed me it.

This is a good opening, but there may be a better way to bring out your bishop, because you are trading a knight for a bishop in an open game, which could cause some problems later on, especially if the game becomes closed, and your opponent has a good bishop, and you do not.  If the game is completely closed, then most likely, this would not be a good trade.  Really, it is a good opening, but there are better.

Thanks for posting this opening....

The moves you showed are classified as Two Knights Defence.

4 Nc3 is not the best move in that sequence.

4 d3 is most commonly played.

Yes, i undertand ya demonic trading a knight for a bishop....but i prolly would because i am better with my bishop than my knights...ghost, can you demostrate wha ya mean 4 Nc3 isnt the best move? I dont understand the numbers?

Actually in your original post you demonstrated 4 Nc3 isnt the best move.  You showed a sequence by which black gets a good position.

You dont understand the numbers?  Refer to the move list of your original post.  Your original post includes 4 Nc3.  At that point 4 d3 is better.

From the shown position would not Qe2 stop the black initiative?  White loses two points of material, but has a strong position in my opinion.
