White played with the technique on an earthworm.

[4. Nf3 is] A bad move.

Total nonsense.

Actually it is a bit more flexible than 4.d4, as white may delay this pawn move for a while, e.g. in favour of Bc4.

But usually both 4.d4 and 4.Nf3 end up to the same positions.

d4 cxd4 Bc4!

I completely agree
HolographWars

The reason it was a draw was because

BLACK WAS 200+ POINTS HIGHER THAN WHITE

Poor decision by Caruana not to play the Alapin.

True, though Carlsen is carlsen

Yeah I thought Caruana would have a good chance of dethroning Magnus, but game - was really ugly for him, so now I’m not so sure. It appears Magnus is a bad matchup for him

Caruana needs to play the Alapin. He keeps letting Magnus off the hook

There is nothing like a "deep analysis" anywhere in this thread. Just naive & shallow speculative lines.

Nonsense. Post #53 alone is probably the single most informative and analytical post in any thread here on chess.com.

Not it to mention the dozens of other games that have been analyzed in-depth throughout this thread.
