I play the Queen's Gambit a lot as white. I started playing it when I got sick of the Ruy Lopez plus a member of a chess club I used to belong to played a very strong variation so I got a lot of experience playing against it from the other side.

Well for challenging look at gambits like the King's Gambit.  The "easier" an opening is to pick up the less likely it is to be challenging.  If you've been playing the Ruy, try the QP Ruy: Veresov  1.d4  Nf6 2. Nc3 d5 3. Bg5....

Just put the bishop on c4 instead of b5 in the third move, and you're playing something different than a Ruy and certainly interesting. The Giuoco Piano and Two Knights revolve around attacking f7 early, and lead to some exciting, tactical games.

This is a line in the Giuoco Piano that I like to play
onewho_dies
that's very risky I think

the g5 push isn't as risky as it looks, blacks not completely developed and his position is cramped so there no way for him to exploit your kings position. But after 7.Nc3 the game can become very sharp. 7.Bd2 is simpler.

ya i love the bc4 instead of b5.... probably the most common opening i play. followed by developing the 2nd knight...
