hello Community, i would like to hear your suggestions to a good opening against d4. i played tournaments years ago and was round about 2000.here i mainly play blitzgame and far away of 2000at the Moment but thats okay. nur i dont like my current choice against d4. i would like to play something active , against e4 i play siciliansveshnikov or najdorf, with white i play sometimes Kings gambit. i am not the Type of Player who always wants to attack but i want to have at least seriouscounterplay and Position i can try to win. of course i Know that a new opening would need some time dir Learning and i wont Abondon it just because i lost some games due to some mistakes. but this is the reason why i dont want to spend time with an opening and then realise this isnt what i want. So my First ideas were Kings indian and modern benoni. modern benoni seems really double edged and i have The impression without enough theory (i dont hate learning theory)you can get a lot of trouble, am i right? And for kings indian i am a little Bit sceptic about f3 auf Be3 by white and i got the impression that besides the Main line black rarely Attacks. All These impression mightbe wrong andi invite you to correct me and/or come up with some fresh ideas. i would really like to hear them and would be thankful for your help:)

many years ago i was Not a very good Player. So an advantage like "white has doubled pawns and the centre is blocked"didnt mean anything to me. why Do you had this idea? because it is solid and black has good play in the centre? thanks for the answer :)

I'm enjoying the Black Knights' Tango at the moment, using Richard Palliser's book. Online, most people seem to play 3.Nc3, which seems to me to offer White no advantage after 3...e5. Lines after 3.Nf3 are trickier but quite playable.
