Advice from Scandinavian Players over 1800?

I was wondering what the solution is to players who respond to 1...d5 with 2. e5 and then 3. d4.

I find their central pawns annoying to no end and I'm not sure how to take advantage of that choice?

Thanks.

A French with a good bishop outside of the pawn chain

You get a French Advanced.  I love when white plays that way.

I don't play the Scandinavian but I would think 2...c5 is pretty good. Take control over d4 then look to break down the e5 pawn later.

2... c5 makes white's natural follow up (d2-d4) harder to get in. So white often will play c3, to prepare it.

Then black can put his bishop outside his pawn chain (on f5, or g4, if a pin is available), then close it with e6.

The queen knight goes to d7, keeping the c6 square free for the king knight to develop at (ne7-nc6).

Just one way to play it. Hope that helps!

It is the Caro-Kann advanced without the lost tempo, it can't be bad for Black.

It's bad for White. I played a lot of junk, Scandinavian not excluded. It is easier to play with a tempo down when you are short of weaknesses and the position is somewhat fixed, entrenched and fortified.
