not c3 (poss typo) f3 yes i like the ryder gambit myself the offer of a queen to black makes it a beauty
Agressive openings with D4?

@ X_PLAYER_J_X. Very interesting blog, not only for this article, many thanks. One of my concerns was that it was only a beginers opening but I see is also played by experienced players, and it has a lot of lines that would be quite familiar whith what I used to play, I think I will give it a chance.
There are other possibilities quite that atracts a lot, like kings gambit and grand prix attack, but I thing it will take a lot of time to be familiar with them, switching from d4 to e4 it takes a time. My cousin who is a quite good player told me not to do it because the majority of people plays whith e4 and he thinks is an advantage to do it with d4, at least at lower levels. I think that my new repertoire will be Black Diemers Gambit and if 1NF6 London System. Is it good?
With blacks I have do not have doubts I always play Old Sicilian, and I feel comfortable with it, and against d4 I tend to accept sooner or later and I also have good results
I think it all has to do with personal preferences.
I have played the London System several times.
However, I will admit I have played other lines more frequently than the London System.
If you was to look at my game explorer you would see how I have played
1.e4 almost 600 times vs 1.d4 almost 100 times.
I think the London System is a wonderful opening.
I do love the London System, but at the same time I love other openings even more.
I personally prefer 1.e4 a lot more than 1.d4.
I have played the Grand Prix Attack.
I even wrote an article on the Grand Prix Attack which is the below link:
http://www.chess.com/blog/X_PLAYER_J_X/understanding-the-grand-prix-attack
I think it is a nice line for beginners to try against the Sicilian.
Another line I use to like playing when I was a beginner was the Italian Game.
I played it tons!
If you look at my game explorer you might not see me playing the Italian Game a lot any more it is because I use to play the Italian Game on another account which got deleted.
Since that time I have fell in love with the Ruy Lopez.
As I have become a stronger chess player.
I play the Ruy Lopez a lot more.
It reminds me of a more demanding Italian Game.
Which is why I like it.
Since you are a beginner I would recommend the Italian Game!
The reason why is because the Ruy Lopez can be very demanding(theoritical).
I don't think the Ruy Lopez being theoritical is a bad thing.
However, sometimes beginners are not ready for very large theoritical lines.
Usually it helps to do baby steps.
Slowly working your way up to the huge theoritical lines.
It is almost like the same situation you are doing with the London System vs Queens Gambit.
The Queens Gambit is like a very large theoritical line.
The Queens Gambit is like the Rolls Royce of the Queen Pawn Opening.
In comparision!
The Ruy Lopez(Spanish Game) is like the Rolls Royce of the King Pawn Opening.
The London System & Italian Game are solid lines with simple ideas which have been played by Grand Masters.
The Italian Game is very flexible for beginners.
The Italian Game is very easy to understand.
Than later on in your chess development you can always change over to the Ruy Lopez.
or
You never know you might love the Italian Game so much that you continue playing with it!
Grand Masters do play the Italian Game.
It can be very positional
or
It can be very aggressive
It is a solid opening which allows it to be very flexible.
I always tell beginners to play solid lines because than at least they have options.
The Italian Game is solid.
The London System is solid.
Now compare them to the Black Diemers Gambit.
The Black Diemer Gambit is giving up material for an attack which is not very solid!
Which means you do not have many options.
You can not be flexible!
You have to be aggressive every time!
When ever you gambit material you have to fight(be aggressive) to get it back.
Now the question is what if you wake up and are not feeling aggressive?
I can say from my own experience that some times I wake up and I do not feel like attacking the enemy king!
Sometimes I feel like moving my pieces around and attacking a pawn or a piece.
I can honestly say I have won games in which I never even checked my opponents king!
My pieces were on the other side of the board far far away from the enemy king and yet I won the game by resignation.

well said , x , "you have to be aggressive every time " re blackmar diemar , it is true we aint always up for fireworks on the board ,
i just find this for me is an aggressive opening with d4 so it fitted as an answer to the question asked
totally see where youre coming from on this though
Between AJM1988 and X_PLAYER_J_X you have convinced me start again with E4, I see that at the end what I am looking for with D4 is what you normally get with e4, more open and tactical game and more focussed on the kingside. So if the anwer is Sicilian I will play Grand Prix Attack that is what I always really wanted to to play and I could not, and if otheIr lines, I do not have an idea yet but I imagine I will try with Italian as you said, at least to start, may be later Rui Lopez, or Vienesse
I am afraid now I have a lot work, but I "think" I am going to enjoy much more, more . I hope this one is really my final decision . I resisted myself to switch to e4, but I think is going to be best, may be not in points but at least in style of playing, and I reserve London System to play with sometimes with D4 that I also liked
Thank you very much
I have asked several times for the stonewall, and nobody asnwer, and theres is not a lot of info on the web. Normally they say it is for begginers, so they say for the London, but I must say they are the two options that like me more with D4, may because you get good attacks on the Kingside, I will have a look at you games, I also liked a lot Der-Schach spieler games, played with the London or similar even with the night to Nc3, this is the style I like with D4 where Queens Gambit and attacks on the Queenside are the majority, these are the exceptions, may be closer to e4 philosophy
@eaguiraud I took a look at your games, and I liked it, it seems easy to play, it seems quite sistematic and with what I like, a good ttacks on Kingside. Is that really a weak opening?
With Grand Prix Attack is quite the same, my cousin told me as 2600 GM FIDE that was his master told him that it was probably the best and also use it on then in tournaments, however the stats in the game explorer are not good at all
I do like when I see high rated players like you or Der-Schachspieler e playing beutiful lines with against the Kingside with openings different to Queens Gambit and even considered for beginners or weak openings. It seems whith D4 the strongest one and played for almost all the players is QG, but I like more these other options
I want to spend my time studing an option that was good, not only for the surprise effect, if it has it, is better, but also and strong opening. I must say that this comes to my mind when I heard to talk about London or Stonewall for instance

Glad that you liked my games, I learned the stonewall with a couple of videos from youtube, feel free to leave a message if you want any help.

You want to learn both? That is a lot of work, but it is okay. And there is 1.d4 d5 2.e4 e6...French.
Also 1.d4 d5 2.e4 c6 ... Caro Kann
Glad that you liked my games, I learned the stonewall with a couple of videos from youtube, feel free to leave a message if you want any help.
Thank you very much, I think I am losing my head looking for so many options. First of all I have to improve, make not so many blunders, and get a solid game. I think I thinking too much of studding an strong opening while may be it is no so important at my level. As I have to go step by step, I have started to play London, X Player was right, I have to improve better with a solid opening one since I am a "begginer", when I felt solid with this opening we will see, if I try whith the Italian or continue or what I do. Thank you very much and sorry for my indecision.
PS: I also saw this video

One more opening to consider if you want a somewhat aggressive and relatively "easy" to learn opening beginning with 1.d4, is the Colle-Zukertort System. A couple of good books, introductions, to this system are the following:
"A Killer Chess Opening Repertoire" by Aaron Summerscale and Sverre Johnsen
http://www.amazon.com/Killer-Chess-Opening-Repertoire-enlarged/dp/1906454183/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1452302976&sr=1-1&keywords=a+killer+chess+opening+repertoire
"Starting Out: d-pawn Attacks" by Richard Palliser
http://www.amazon.com/Starting-Out-Attacks-Colle-Zukertort-Everyman/dp/1857445783/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1452303046&sr=1-1&keywords=d-pawn+attacks
The reason I say the system is relatively "easy" to learn is that you can generally play the first 4 or 5 moves as White against almost any response by Black. Having said that, we know there are always exceptions to be aware of in chess!
Also this opening is, thematically, loosely related to such openings as the Colle-Koltanowski System, London System, Veresov Opening, Torre Attack, Trompowsky Attack, etc. The opening structures for all of these are designed to facilitate a kingside attack. So once you learn any of these openings, the others can be learned quite readily and naturally. In fact many players like to play several of these as White, for variety, as they tend to share many of the same themes and plans.

Bye-the-way....
There is an excellent tutorial of the London System contained on pages 70-103 of the book:
"Tips for Young Players" by Matthew Sadler
This is also a very instructive book for all players thru Intermediate level, whether young or old....or anywhere in between. Simply lots of good general chess instruction and tips in the book.
7 G4 !?
7Bg5
will give white lots of opportunities.
Remember that moves in the opening fase of BDG , as long as you are down the pawn, need to contribute to development, to creating new threats, to complicate things.
When you want theoretical sound openings BDG isn't the right choice but , my personal experience, up to the 2100 level black has a very hard time to proof it's not right!
Now that I see the video, I take in C3 whith the Queen, not with the Night, it seems to be called the Rider Gambit, from my point of view it comes to very funny and unexpected games. It is true that it can easly transpose to French Defense. The he stats are good in French Defense for white in this position 44% white wins, 26,2 % draw, 29,6% lost but I imagine there are many lines, and many experts and it is more complicated
I also like a lot, London System moreover when I see people whith high rating that also use it, and it has a lot of lines that I really like, because is the system I used, except that I use Nc3, instead Nd2.
But you are right, it is better to focus on one, when you had too many things at the same time you do not learn properly. I think I am going to focus on London System which seems easiest, and now and then I will have a quick game with BDG just to have fun.
Where can I learn more abotu London System?, tricks, traps, strategy.. do not like too much to read books, I prefer something more interactive, but if there is no other alternative I will buy a book
Best Regards, and thanks to everybody for your help, finally I get to a conclusion
