Hello, i want to know if there's some book that gives a repertoire for white with 3.Nc3 against the french and particularly the alekhine chatard attack, 1.e4 e6 2.d4 d5 3.Nc3 Nf6 4.Bg5 Be7 5.e5 Nfd7 6.h4. But i don't like khalifman's books.

It doesn't need to recommend the alekhine chatard attack but i want a book that at least recommends 3.Nc3 for white.

This book is obviously dated (it's from 1976) but very good for learning the various lines and the ideas behind them (you can always update the outdated theory with a decent DB)

I'll take a look, but are you sure this book gives a repertoire for white?

If I recall, the Alekhine-Chatard is not reckoned to be entirely sound these days (like a number of lines Alekhine liked). If so, the problem is that any good book is going to show you that the lines you want to get to rely on black errors, whereas a good black repertoire will achieve an advantage. Not recommended for turn-based chess against a decent opponent, but if you like catching people out with unusual lines, worth a punt at OTB or live chess.

Actually I don't think it does

I thought the Alekhine Chatard was interesting after analyzing the openings book of fritz, but what i really want is a book that gives you a repertoire with 3.Nc3. I really can't find anything, besides chessbase dvd's...

Thanks, i know there are a lot of critics about the book but i'll give it a try to get a basic repertoire with 3.Nc3.
