I was looking at some Veresov lines in my MCO book. I have the 13th edition by Walter Korn, published in 1990. Anyhow, that might explain what is given as the first and main line in this book: 1.d4, d5 2.Nc3, Nf6 3.Bg5, Nbd7 4.f3, h6 5.Bh4, e6 6.e4, g5 7.Bg3, Nxe4.
Black plays 7...Nxe4. The computer says its just losing for Black after 8.fxe4. Someone must have analyzed this gambit, right? Have you ever seen it? What was also strange is that in the book line White re-takes with the Knight. Now I can't see any reason for this. Does anyone know for a fact that is a book error? Maybe it is. There are no analysis notes discussing this question in the book.
