Black won't take on d4. Tension will remain until White finally plays d5. Once White plays d5, you have the same blocked structure in the center as the czech Benoni without having to play innocuous moves just to get rid of your bad bishop for his Bishop. Instead, you got a knight for it way earlier!

white wins over 40% after d4 d5 c4, black only wins around 20-30%. lol
You don't know how to read statistics if all you look at is percentage of wins.
I see idiots tell me that if one opening, let's say The Scandinavian, scores 45% wins for White, 30% draws, and 25% wins for Black, that that is better for Black than 20% White Wins, 70% Draws, and 10% Black Wins, something more reminiscent of the Berlin, their logic being that 25 is greater than 10.
How one side scores is NOT based on Wins. It is based on points. Draws are worth half a point!
If an opening scores 35% wins for White, 38% draws, and 27% wins for Black, White DOES NOT score 35%. White scores 54%. 35 + (0.5 * 38) = 54. Black DOES NOT score 27%. He scores 46%! 27 + (0.5 * 38) = 46.
So in the first example with the 45/30/25 vs 20/70/10, the second is better for Black! The first is a 60% score for White (40% for Black). The second is only 55% for White (45% for Black).
