                                                  Queen-Indian Def.

The Queen-Indian is like the twin-sister of the Nimzo-Indian defence.  They are pretty similar.  But an advised eye easily make the difference between them.  In large, Black's, with the move 3. ...b6 increases his control over the central light squares (e4 and d5) by preparing to put the Queen-Bishop into an Fianchetto position.

In this post, we will see 13 differents variations of this defence.  It will be the classical variation, the 4.Nc3-Bb7 5.Bg5-h6  6.Bh4-Bb4 variation, the 4.g3 variation, anti-Indian system, the Petrosian system, the 4.e3 variation, the Botvinnik variation, the Burger variation, the Riumin variation, the Euwe variation, the Miles variation, the Rubinstein variation, and FINALLY the Averbakh variation.

3-  4.g3-Ba6 section:

4- anti-Indian system section (Opocensky variation):

5-Petrosian system section:

we can notice that the last move 4.a3 is a pure prophylaxis in the true spirit of great Tigran Petrosian.  This little pawn prevents Black's move Bb4 that pins Nc3. Since the Nc3 controls the all important central square e4, we can say that the 4.a3 move is a fight for the center!..

Personnal games section:

Queen Indian defense (1.d4-Nf6 2.c4-e6 3.Nf3-b6)

For White:

For Black: -Black plan lies in an deavowing to gain the control of white e4 and d5

- often turn into a fight Knight/Bishop and vise versa (good minor pieces against weaker one)

Quebecor's games section:

Unfortunately, I didn't found any Nathalia Pogonina's game according with the Queen-Indian def. So exceptionnaly for this time (and the others time i will not found a single game according with the subject), let's place to the Maka Purtseladze's game section :

Why are your first 3 threads all deleted?
