You play the french
What Openings Do You Play?
Caro-Kann and Vienna mostly. Little bit of the London.
I know it's worse and worse as you play better and better opponents, but I do like the Englund. It's fun.
As White, I stick with the Italian and (occasionally) the Ponziani.
As Black, the Sicilian is my go-to. I especially like to combine it with the French Defense. Against d4, I'm partial to the QID.
I really like the Spanish with white & the French with black. I like the Blackmar-Diemer Gambit with white & it's most aggressive Ryder Gambit. I like the Queen's Gambit Declined with black, a very defensive way to play. I also like the simplicity of the Scotch. I'm learning the English for white & the Sicilian with black, I'm finding both to be great. I must say there are so many openings beyond what I know. For example, I'd like to find time to learn more about the Italian & London. As a final note, if you're playing & you're unfamiliar with an opening setup, follow the 3 principles (fight for center, develope army, safety of kings) & play your style as much as possible.
I'm just asking to see what people usually prefer. As a 1100 in Rapid, I play the Caro-Kann, the Ruy Lopez, and the Benko Gambit.
