Although most openings can be considered good, I would say that the Caro Kann opening is the best. The plans are easy to understand, giving black equality or a small advantage after the opening stage of the game. The variety of pawn structures and types of positions a Caro Kann player gets to play only make the opening more interesting, enjoyable, and beneficial to play.

Any opening that leads to familiar concepts and patterns.

The best opening for you is the one you enjoy and can play well.

IMO, if both sides are playing their objectively strongest moves, you end up in the Ruy Lopez.

This is the Evans Gambit, written in (old) Spanish notation.
1. Pawn to the fourth square of his King.
Likewise.
2. Knight to the third square of his King's Bishop.
Knight to the third square of his Queen's Bishop.
3. Bishop to the fourth square of his (other) Bishop.
Likewise.
4. Pawn to the fourth square of his Queen's Knight.
Bishop takes Pawn.
The notation of Black's fourth move is ambiguous and wrong, since Black can take two different Pawns.
