I wonder why people hate dragon variations the most. However it is understandable why the Najdorf has an overwhelming lead.

Well because Fischer said : Against the dragon you normally need only to break the h file open and sac sac to win. he said its so powerful against the dragon, that a moderate player can easily look like a gm with playing that way against the dragon. Also Najdorf is verry popular, its favorite of Fischer, Fasparov and Walther Browne.
The only thing that bothers me is, how can the taimanov be the safest sicilian, if taimanov lost 0 to 6.

This exercise is not a disciplined way to determine the 'best' variation, despite the title. There is no analysis, no measurement method, no comparison criteria. It's just a popularity contest.

It's a new day, so I vote for the Sveshnikov and hurt the Four Knights.
I dislike anything with 4 Knights, so I hurt the Four Knights and heal the Najdorf.
