Best weapon against Kings Indian Defense
As a Trompowsky player myself, there is only one way for you to get a Kings Indian against me and it would wind up a Saemisch.
1.d4 d6 2.e4 Nf6 3.f3 and now if 3...g6, then 4.c4 Bg7 5.Nc3.
I've been playing the Semi-Classical ... with some decent success.... its often over looked, rarely do theory books cover the lines.
I'm more of a fianchetto system type of person. However, I would also say I like any kingside-type system against the King's Indian, like the Sämisch, both of the Averbakh sisters or the Karpov-Makagonov system. I feel like they are good ways to try to throw off Black's typical play.
The Fianchetto Variation is considered one of the best weapons against the King’s Indian Defense. By playing g3 and Bg2 early, White strengthens the kingside, controls key central squares, and limits Black’s dynamic attacking chances. Unlike sharper lines, this setup offers long-term positional pressure with solid pawn structure and flexible plans. It is highly effective for players aiming to neutralize Black’s aggression while steering toward a strategic advantage.
Classical variation for white, with e4, d4, c4, Nc3, Nf3, Be2.
Very similar reasoning to mr car battering.
