Hi Chessfriend, interesting question. I don´t like to play f4 or against f4.
But this link shows a few games with the bird opening.

Hi,
I used to play the bird's opening as well and i also forgot about the strategies that were involved with this opening but i'm wondering if i still could pull off a good game with this opening. I never got into problems with this e5 from-gambit strategies. Your game just switches from a attaking game to a more passive game and just keeping that pawn that you grabbed and in the end your be a pawn ahead. In most cases that is enough.
The Kings gambit 1)f4,e5 2) e4 is a joy to play. But you have to know the basic lines. In quick games it sheer fun, to play this. :) The pro's used to like it.
I used to play 1. f4 exclusively as white but stopped after people started replying 1...e5 and I didn't like the positions I would find myself in. Transposing into the King's Gambit was no more successful. Anyways, I'm feeling brave enough once more and really liked playing 1. f4 but I seem to have forgot much about its strategies. Control of e5 for white obviously, but what pawn breaks should I be aiming for? Anyone know where I can find a good article that breaks down basic strategies against the non-From's gambit responses?
