If you're not a fan of closed positions, then I'd be surprised if you liked the French much.  I'd recommend the Sicilian Sveshnikov or Scheveningen.

Alekhine's defense

1. e4 b6 is the Owens Defense.

If you want to get REALLY aggressive, Alekhine's defense is all about messing up white's pawn structure and then going all out to exploit it before white can repair it.

In a Q&A session GM Peter Svidler was asked if The Caro-Kann was good to have as ones only defence to 1.e4.  Peter (himself a real caro-killer) answered that it is possible to have it as your only answer to 1.e4 but it will in different ways very often put yourself in difficult positions. As a recommendation Peter said that against 1.e4 he would recommend  1...e5 or any variation of the Sicilian defence. If you like to play one of those openings but prefer different positions and pawnstructures then go for 1...e5. The sicilian, Fischers and Kaspys choice, is a sharper opening and gives black perhaps better chances to play for the win .

In the French :

1)against 3.Nc3 play the Winawer, I feel that the classical French is a little too passive

2)against tarrasch play 3...Nf6 and get in your c5 and f6 breaks early.

3)Against advance variation play this move order

4) against the exchange variation look at games of Korchnoi and alekhine to see how they played against French defense

Plus I also recommend Grandmaster Repertoire :14,15,16 as the author covers all the sidelines and main lines
