Are you saying that Mr Boncloud's Win/Loss Record is a proof against the Bongcloud Attack? I am sure Mr Bongcloud has invested so much time in finding 2. Ke2 that his middle- and endgame is slightly underdeveloped

WRONG. that is the equivalent of saying that nothing will ever beat the gasoline engine, or that forks will remain the predominant mechanism for eating in the western world. holding on to such purisms is, at best, dangerous. there is NOTHING simple about this opening.

Rumor has it that the publication of the leatherbound three volume set titled "The Complete Theory of the Boncloud Attack" has been postponed. The marketing department blurped out the following advertisement: "1 e4 any 2. Ke2 and then what?" which kinda said it all. Head of Sales concluded that the last 2000 empty white pages in the three volume set would be a bit be a bit too much space for private notes.
farbror
Agreed! The Three Volume is already a sought after collector's item. It is predicted to outsell that mysterious "My 61 Best Games" (if all leagal issues are sorted out) by a fair amout of Jazz Tobacco.

The publishing industry is going through a series of reorganzations. The Ex Head of Sales is commenting thru his secretary on his errh... promotion (along with the Lenny project) to the Postcard Department in Dresden: "This is a challenge and a great career move. The Lenny Project might work well on the postcard media"

When  Mr Bongcloud where asked to comment on the earth shattering moves in the publishing indutry and the effect on his assumed options program, Hedge fund and movie career he said: "Uhm...What, man?"

I so want that 3 volume leatherbound set of books. I'm drooling for them. Even though I'm an expert at the opening, to confirm my expertise it would be GREAT! I'm going to look on eBay for it right now.

By the way and way, I'm glad to see that Erik, the CEO of Chess.com, has more or less endorsed the Boungcloud opening. That takes courage, and I admire him for it.

farbror
Yeah, we'd better encourage Erik to print the complete Bongcloud Attack Theory on the next officiell T-shirt.

bongcloud wounldt except my challenge
StacyBearden
but would he accept it?
SWFCfan
And more to the point... WHY wounldt he except it? Foot in mouth
StacyBearden
Hmmm.....good question. If he didn't want to play, he would except the challenge. I think Ernesto is comfortable with his game. He doesn't need to prove its power. And, of course, he is dead.
savy_swede

We must start a tournament!!!

unrated of course because it would be unfair to give white such an advantage in a rated game

seriously, I'd play

Would it be going too far for the people who understand this joke to all challenge a new member and use the Bongcloud Attack / Defence in all the games?  I think it probably would be too much of a joke at someone elses expense, but it would be interesting to see the reaction.

that would be awesome but it would be tough to witness a person's reaction over the internet

Stacy, that would be Lenny - bong_cloud, not ernesto boungcloud.  and Lenny isn't dead - yet - is he???  Of course, if the previous writer meant Ernesto, yeah, he is dead.  but he spelled it bongcloud, not boungcloud.

he did spell it boungcloud. look at the title of the thread

Another thing...What happened to his collection of argile socks? Did he leave them to his brother? The reason I ask is because I rather like argile socks, or "stickies" as they are called by enthusiasts, and have quite a collection of my own.  I would do anything to get my hands on a pair of his, then I could wear them when I play chess.
