You can use chessgames.com to look at grandmaster games in the Caro-kaan and there are a lot of videos on the internet.

I doubt that you can find any games or videos about that "Caro-kaan", as it doesn't exist.

YourKingHasFallen2012, yeah its a little defensive opening for the black. its starts with c6, d5. but if whites knows the Caro-Kann whites gonna play e4, d4, e5

Its a big deal if you try to search for it, because "caro-kaan" wont yield too many results grin

Nothing wrong with Caro-Kann for beginners. Its an easy opening to learn. Of course white still has ways to try to break through the robust defense, such as the accelerated Panov

or two Knights, possibly followed by the Alien Gambit

or the infamous Fantasy

And there is of course always the question of king security, which can go wrong easily since we often no longer have the Bc8 to defend the king, and king side may get cramped, too. But overall Caro-Kann is more robust, less trappy and easier to learn than many other openings.

Oh and usually you will of course just face the three standard answers from white.

Advance Variation

Exchange Variation

Defense (?) Variation (doesnt actually have a name):

Anything wrong with the Panov?

The Alien Gambit came up in early 2024. Stockfish rates it -2, so black has the advantage. But the white fields are weak around the king, and with unprecise play its easy to get either the king and/or the queen side totally locked down. Thats why its good to know the next few computer moves of the variant.

The Caro kann is just as good as any.

Study Karpov.

The Grandmasters Repertoire book is a good one.

A lot of Caro kann games end in rook and pawn endgames. Be strong in your endgames, the Caro kann is strong and defensive enough to get you there.
