Black easily equalises but that doesn't mean it's unplayable.I am sure Danny Rench doesn't believe it's aline that can give white any advantage but he likes it and he is well prepare with it.That is more important than playing the cutting-edge of theory.

This is in response to the Caro-Kann video preview I saw on this site earlier. This is my answer to white's 3.f3, when I see it and am playing black.
The best I can see for white is winning a pawn after the first ~10 moves, but in exchange must forfeit his right to castle and spend some extra time to develop his pieces. (And that much is only achieved if they already know the variation or read the position very well.)
