Can caro kann defence be used as white opening?? Please explain its effectiveness against english opening or grunfeld.

I don't get it. Do you mean 1.c3? Am I understanding you correctly?

1.c3 is called the Saragossa.  Not real popular but it is played and there are previous threads on the forums:

This is not called caro kann.. Thnx for the info... You guys are such helpful.. You could all have ignored it.. As the main post may seem an ineffective one to you guys.. But you helped me out.. Thnx..
