He will always be alive as a chess skill or knowledge that he instilled in us
Tribute to GM Naroditsky

RIP Danya The Hero
Honestly, I didn't really watch lots of his YT videos. I barely even watched them. But when I saw that GothamChess video, I was heartbroken. Gone. That too at 29. Just gone.
Our family was celebrating Diwali at the time he passed away. After I celebrated Diwali, I wanted to watch YouTube videos, and at the "Most Recommended" video section, I found that video title. I checked it out, and my pure happiness just turned into pure grief.
*sobbing*
He wasn't just a grandmaster. He was the chess bodyguard. And his spirit, his dedication, his love for chess, his kindness, his devilish and merciful wins are still there. He is just watching from the sky, other people taking interest in chess. And that's all that makes him happy. That really was an unexpected death. His family, his friends, the audience (that is us), are mourning his death, from his IRL funeral to the digital connection and sadness to all the chess minds. He was completely in the shadows of the big chess players.
I didn’t know him quite a lot. But I knew what he meant. To the community. To the game. To the thousands of players who felt safer, smarter, and more seen because of him. Danya was the gold of millions of people.
It is not fair. Especially someone like Danya, dying at such a young age. His death just weakened the storm and chaos of the chess world. Someone who dominated the board, just vanished into thin air.
Also, Happy Belated Diwali to everyone. May I wish him with some diyas and also wish him a Happy Diwali, even if he doesn't follow my religion. 🪔🪔🪔🪔
We remember. We play. We teach. We meme. We carry the calm forward. We protect the game the way he did.
Rest in peace, Danya. You were the chess bodyguard. And we will never forget that. We pay tribute to you.
