9. Nd2
Caro-Kann with 3.Nc3

Actually I faced this one with white pieces today in Helsinki's championship. Cannot type the fame here yet because my computer is unavailable :)

Also, Yohan, thank you for your deeply thought analysis. Do you think there is a way for black not to end up in a drawish situation while playing the Caro-Kann?
Oh, certainly. I like the Classical Variation with 4... Bf5, particularly the lines that involve castling kingside (both 7... Nf6 and kingside castling after 7... Nd7). These variations can lead to exciting scenarios with mutual wing attacks, where Black has plenty of central counterplay with well-timed ...c5 or ...b5 advances.
Here are some sample Black victories:
The 4... Bf5 lines followed by Qc7 and queenside castling are certainly far more drawish, and in fact are what gave the Classical Caro-Kann its original drawish reputation. The kingide castling lines are far newer and revitalize the line, cementing it as an incredibly sound variation that still maintains winning chances.
Certainly the Caro-Kann can be drawish, but only if you make it that way. There are bountiful ways available to spice it up.
I don`t know which is better 5...I dunno.
However if you wanna win quickly as black then I recommend trying the following out.
