White can try plenty ideas in that final position, usually after kingside castling because there is no reason why black can't generate as much play against king in opposite castled position as white can king. There are ideas like minorty attack a3, b4-b5, and central play re1, f3, e4 eventually. Black can counter these ideas. Look at games by Short at Candidate Match level against Timman, Geland? for example.

Yeah, except this is a main line Slav rather than a QGD (you don't even have ...e6 in)
