What is the best opening against E4?

Hi. There is a very good video series in the library called something like 'every opening against E4' , which takes you through all the options. What you choose to play should be very much down to the positions you like playing. If the Lopez is too complex/theoretical for your taste, something like the Scandinavian (1...d5) or French (1...e6) might suit. In short, there is no 'best' opening, otherwise everyone would play that and nothing else. At a Master level there are openings that are played more as they are considered 'sharper' but below that level playing any opening without a blunder is a good opening.
