1. e4 e5 2. f4 exf4 3. Bc4 is sometimes called the Mason Gambit. Similar positions can be reached in several ways through transposition, such as 1.e4 e5 2.Bc4 Nc6 3.f4.
1.e4 e5 2.Bc4 itself is the Bishop's Opening.
Thomas Johansson wrote 2 exceedingly well-received books on the KG: The King's Gambit for the Creative Aggressor! back in 1998 and the more recent The Fascinating King's Gambit. His first book dealt with the more common lines such as 1. e4 e5 2. f4 exf4 3. Nf3, while the later book dealt with the Bishop line. Mr. Johansson , if I remember correctly, noted that computers have more or less ruined the 3. Nf3 line for white, whether due to an inherent weakness or over-analyzation, but this is less true with the 3. Bc4 line which is not as common, but just as, or more, effective and far less analyzed.
