White is worse after Black accepting the gambit (although not lost), but Black has two good ways to decline it and have a good position witout entering complicated lines: 3...d5 and 3...Qe7. The latter is very annoying for white.

You can play the Centre Game without going into the Danish Gambit. It is still a gambit and has interesting lines. It can also transpose into the Scotch, Italian, Petrov or Philadore.
