Danish Gambit

Beautiful attacking lines here. This is an opening I want to use sometime! 

I wanted to play it till I played about ten games in a row that went 1.e4 e5 2.d4 ed 3.c3 d5.  That'll cure you of wanting to play the Danish and enjoy all its beautiful attacking lines in a hurry.

Why to lose a pawn,?

White has no fun with the danish. It's much more fun to play The Spanish Torture

why is the smith morra gets all kinds of credit and the danish gambit gets no love?

The thing is,

at my chess club I doubt most of the more mediocre players know how to play it. Yes, they probably know about it but I don't think they know how to play it well so I'll have an edge over them there.

I don't mean mediocre as a bad term; I'm trying to give a title for those who probably don't really study many openings. (I myself am one of them).

For club players, any opening is a good opening if you know how to play it. Give it a shot.

Black has 2 good ways of declining the gambit and getting an equal game. Even if black accepts the gambit he can get a good game if he knows what to do. This is hardly what white wants out of the opening.
