Hi, I was wondering how to use databases to study an opening. Lets say I wanted to study the kings Indian attack for example. I would maybe download every game Fischer, and Kasparov, insert name here, played it as white. How many moves into each game should I look at to learn the ideas and concepts behind that opening. Then perhaps after that is settled, I could look at the tactical motifs those games normally run into to better my middle game understanding for said type of games, what kind of endgames usually arrive in them. Is my thinking right or somewhat on track? Please help me out here as I want to find the best way to drill certain types of games into my head. I don't just want memorization, I want to understand it thoroughly. Thanks
