Can't play 3-0 and doesn't prove squat.  How about 15-10?

The bet is that we play 5 games and you play white in every game. You play either the Parham or the Bongcloud.  I give you draw odds on the match (so if it ends 2 1/2 - 2 1/2, you win).  If you win, I will play my next three team match games online with white using the Parham (or somehow I will get 3 Parham games with white since obviously I can't make black play e5).  If I win, you will publicly state on a separate thread to my satisfaction and never repudiate that the Parham sucks as bad as the Bongcloud.

That sounds reasonable.

Just something to resolve the argument.

Why would you be scared of engines?

The_Gavinator

Becasue engines can smoke Kasparov, Fischer, Capablanca, and everyone on this site combined.

The variation shown in my game with whatupyodog.

That's why I don't play correspondnece, you have a bunch of wusses like that who feel the need to engine.

I didn't use the engine until after the game is over. I didn't even use a database, which is allowed in fact. If you notice during the game I thought c6 was better than Be6, before I analyzed the game with an engine. Black is better in both lines.

If I'd used an engine I would have played 9... d5, which is scored at about    -1.

The_Gavinator

See a database is called cheating, do you think Kasparov went into all of those years he won the WCC using a laptop and database right nexst to him?

Well, I doubt that.

Kasparov was not at his best playing deep blue.

The_Gavinator

That was 15 years ago, if he couldn't win 15 years ago, I can't imagine he'd win now.

0.34 isn't better for any side.

It's an even game.

Kasparov was not at his best playing deep blue.

He won against Deep Blue the first time.

The rematch is what he lost.

gambiteer12

@Yereslov that evaluaion shows the engine reckons white is playing black after 15 moves. Is that what you want out of the opening?

The_Gavinator

And now 15 years later nobody can stand against engines.

Eris_Discordia

Ok, so are whatup and joeydvivre going to play or not.

A database is legal in correspondance, but I didn't use one because I knew you would complain.

I can't play 3-0 to save my life so I guess this is off.  I'm too old for that stuff...

just record your screen while playing/have alot of people with engines spectate and see if your moves are engine moves.

shepi13

I am untracking this and all other parham threads. I post good lines that practically refute their opening so they accuse me of cheating. Not worth the problems to try to help these losers; they can play whatever dumb opening they choose.

The_Gavinator

And Emma that's awesome, were you playing online or at a local club or something?
