Just saying...……..you can play a Yugoslav kinda thing against a Najdorf too, just w/ slightly different plans. That's what I play at least.

If you REALLY want to avoid the Yugoslav set-up, I'd recommend a Sveshnikov or Kalashnikov (however you spell that). Although the playing style is much different than the Dragon, so it will take some time to get used to.

Kan or Pin style is good for inexperienced player. Sveshnikov kind of stuff can get very complex.

That works almost all the time during the game, especially long games. Unless you know what your opponents gonna play, I recommend playing your usual openings. If your opponent plays a sideline, just try and find the best moves

don't wanna be rude, but if you are unexperienced player, don't play Sizilian  (some random e5 player here 😜)

Oof sorry I think d5 works only for accelerated dragon. I'm generally an accelerated dragon player, prefer it to the regular one

Yup. I have the same problem with 1e4 e5. Of course Im not going to tell you how I play after that. I dont study chess, only GM Ginger and Backyard professor videos. I thought I can just play  what I want and win. But some people want proof? Dont they know Im going to be GM in 6 months? Can you help me get back to my trash talking ways?

Ginger GM has a nice DVD or download opening repertoire for Dragon as black that you can buy. Obviously it deals with the St. George Attack (aka Yogoslav when done by white in the Dragon) 

If you want quick advice then ...h5 is preferred by computers in almost every line to somewhat slow down white’s attack. You must be good at instantly recognizing ...N:e4 tactics and ...R:c3, you have to check for those possibilities at literally every move. B or N takes g4 pawn is another common theme that you must be on the lookout for. Probably the most important thing to remember about Dragon in general is that you will unfortunately HAVE TO memorize several lines, Dragon is that kind of an opening where if you make one wrong move, you are dead, same goes for white. In one main line of the Yogoslav you must make 9!!! Consecutive “only” moves, that also involve several sacrifices, or you lose! Ridiculous... It’s a very sharp opening. Many say THE sharpest opening. This is why Pirc/Modern became popular, people are trying to get the Sicilian Dragon position without the memorization. 

Sorry bro. Dragon is Dead. 9 consecutive razor moves... you must get right?! For specialist only. Not even the KID is that sharp. New players are better with symmetrical lines and solid QGD or Slav stuff, surely. Beside, I suspect many Dragon fans just like the name...

Top people play Dragon all the time, Carlsen, Kasparov played it in world championship two or three times and kicked Anand’s butt with it pretty badly. Topalov, Jones, Naka, all played Dragon in recent history. On club level this opening is obviously very popular and will always stay that way due to black’s chances, and it makes for a more fun game than symmetrical drawish stuff. It’s about personality, does one like to defend or attack? Do you want to respond to white or do you want to do your own thing? Name-wise there are many cool opening names... 

Kaspy played Dragon once, as a surprise... and several thousand nadjorf and scheveningen. None of the top 25 players have in their main repertoire, I think, maybe the odd game. And if you like defence Dragon is great?! Sorry to be rude but just lose a game by 0.003sec after kicking the guys butt. Not impressed.
