Defense against e4 for beginner

Okay, so I'm a relatively new player (I should be around 1000 right now) and I'm only playing the London with White for consistency purposes for now. Naturally when moving up the ranks I'll have to deal with a lot of KIDs, so I chose this as my primary opening against 1.d4 when playing Black. For 1.e4 I've already played the Caro-Kann and it looks like a very suitable opening for a beginner. However, is there any other opening that resembles the ideas of the KID a little bit more? I've tried the Sicilian Dragon as both IM Eric Rosen and GM Hikaru say it's very good for beginners and the structures are said to be similar to the King's Indian. What's your opinion here?
