Everyone wins. If you win, you win because you played better than the other person. If you lost, you win because you learned something.

Nobody wins in the sense of boxing or MMA.

Like chess, a champion today will be beaten by a hungry contender tomorrow.

That's the same in everything else in life.

The only winning is learning something in the process.

As long as there is something you enjoy about the game you are winning. If there's nothing you enjoy about it then chess is not for you. Win, lose, draw, just have fun in the process.
