Selecting and opening the game (e.g. from the game list), &
1.) Windows / Show game info
2.) Game / Identify Opening (then it's name appears in the Info window).
Hope it helps.
You might find the "Database / Maintenance / ECO Classify Games..." and
"Game / Find Novelty" and
"Database / Import File(s) of PGN Games..." options also useful.
Hi,
I've never really "studied" the opening, I am familiar with some and their names however, this is largley due to a useful feature within Chessmaster, as you open a PGN or play moves in the status bar at the bottom it would tell you the name of the opening and also when the opening book has ended. I liked this as it got me learning what the various openings are called.
Anyway, I have used Scid vs PC recently and like it very much. It seems to do everything I want except for this one thing. I cannot see how to have the names of the openings showing as I either play moves or cycle through a PGN of a game I have just played.
Does anyone have any idea how to do this?
Thank you in advance
