Which opening did you attempt to learn?

@MarieStarrz looking at a few of your games, you are tactically vulnerable at this stage of your progress and I'd recommend studying tactical awareness more than openings. Chernev and Reinfeld's very old book, "Winning Chess" is still a decent place to go. But you seem to be better in hypermodern than classical positions and it's always useful to learn at least one if those whilst keeping a feel for the classical Pawn Centre. So I'd suggest 1. d4 followed by 2. Bg5 (whenever sensible; it works best against 1..., d5 and 1..., Nf6 and 1..., f5) as White and 1..., b6 as Black. You can do the former with pretty much zero opening theory learning. For the latter Cyrus Lakdawala's book, "1..., b6 Move by Move" will see you through nicely until you hit 1600 or thereabouts. A couple of days' study and it'll be sufficiently at your command. Lakdawala is also magnificent at teaching chess principles and self-development whilst unpacking an opening.

Hippo-Holmes

One of the easiest openings to learn is the Hippo, and you can play it with white and black.

Here are 300+ Hippo videos on Youtube:

The Chess Giant - Solomon Ruddell {Won National Master title playing the Hippo with both colours}

Can't really think of one that can be a good opening

I know that e4 (The King's Pawn Opening) is the best way to start a chess game. d4 (The Queen's Pawn Opening) is the second best way to start a chess game. d4 is almost (but not quite) as good as e4
